The Corporation of the City of St. Catharines is inviting proponents to submit proposals for Provision of Third-Party Operation of Merritton Centennial Arena as further described in the RFP documents. The City requires the services of an entity (the Operator) to provide third-party operation of the Merritton Centennial Arena under a lease arrangement with the City. The Operator shall operate the arena as a recreational facility for 12 months of the year with minimum, but not limited to, ice required from September – March annually. The initial term of the agreement shall be for a period of five (5) years. The City shall have options, at its sole and absolute discretion, to extend the term of the agreement for two (2) additional periods of five (5) years (each an “Extension Option”) subject to negotiation of acceptable pricing for the extension period(s) and satisfactory performance by the Operator. Each Extension Option shall be exercisable by the City by giving the Operator not less than 180 days’ notice prior to the expiry of the then current term. |
